Not many people know that Machu Picchu is not the only inca ruins in Peru. There remains other inca ruins around the Andes mountain range.
Those places are open to visit by tourists and you will find lots of local tours departing from Cuzco to such areas. There are sacred valley, south valley, and many more. I can’t remember.
Because i did not have many time in Peru i only visit Sacred Valley. Though the villages that we visited were not as wonderful as Machu Picchu, but it was a pleasant tour. We got to know more about Inca history, culture, myths and folklore. I found it very very interesting.
So if you got time, i think sacred valley is worth a visit. The scenery is enjoyable too.
